We are a unique international organization dedicated to the development and dissemination of knowledge about the design, conduct and analysis of clinical trial methodologies. Working towards these goals, in our Society you will find physicians, nurses, data managers, programmers, statisticians, coordinators, epidemiologists, policy experts, ethicists, regulators, and others who identify themselves as trialists. And we come from variety of environments: academia, the pharmaceutical and device industries, government agencies, medical groups and centers, and clinical research entities. It is this very diversity of constituencies and work environments that enriches our Society and makes it unique.
Through our journal (Clinical Trials), our website (which you have found) and our annual meetings in May, you can learn (and perhaps teach!) about emerging trial methods and issues, and participate in discussions with other trialists.
Our annual meetings are particularly exciting events, as noted below. This past May in Baltimore we had over 660 trialists attending from every continent except Antarctica! And we are looking towards another stimulating meeting in Vancouver next May (May 15-18th – put it on your calendar!).
If you are already a member, we invite you to volunteer to work on the many committees and task forces we have. Feel free to contact me for more information at bbyingto@wfubmc.edu.
And if you are not a member yet, we hope you will join us in this adventure to foster the energy and creativity of clinical trials! There is information on this page regarding how you can join.
The 31st Annual Meeting was a great success. Over 660 international attendees participated in the meetings. The combination of Invited Sessions and 70 contributed paper sessions, along with over 100 poster presentations, made for a highly informative event. Thank you to the SCT 2010 Program Committee and Chair Simon Day for organizing a well rounded event that served the diverse interests of interdisciplinary, international attendees.
New! Presentations from the meeting are now available on the members' only section of the website. Click here to access (link to members only page). This is for members only - if you are not a member, join today by clicking here (link to membership page).
